With the Bruins desperately needing to improve their prospect pool, it is understandable that they have brought in a promising youngster like Zellers.
Zellers just had a spectacular season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Green Bay Gamblers. In 52 games on the year, the 5-foot-10 forward scored a league-leading 44 goals and posted 71 points.
Now, Zellers has been rewarded for his incredible campaign, as he has been named the USHL Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season.
Given how excellent of a campaign Zellers had, it is hard to argue with the youngster being named USHL Player of the Year. He was simply dominant with his goal scoring, and he is only creating more optimism about his future because of it.
After his monster season, Zellers is now set to begin his collegiate career at the University of North Dakota in 2025-26. If he can continue to score goals like this in college, it will only create more hype surrounding the 19-year-old forward. It will be fascinating to see if he can do just that from here.
