The Bruins will miss this forward in their lineup.
Earlier this off-season, the Boston Bruins lost forward Viktor Arvidsson to the Detroit Red Wings in free agency. The 33-year-old winger signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Red Wings and will now be a key part of their roster as they look to finally get back into the playoffs next year.
With how well Arvidsson fit on the Bruins' roster, there is no question that he is a player whom they will miss next season. He proved to be a strong addition to their top six, but the Bruins will now need to adjust without the 2014 fourth-round pick in their lineup.
After a disappointing 2024-25 campaign with the Edmonton Oilers, Arvidsson bounced back in a major way during his lone season as a Bruin. In 69 games with the Black and Gold this past campaign, he posted 25 goals, 29 assists, 54 points, and a plus-20 rating. With numbers like these, he was a big reason why the Bruins' second line had great success last season.
Now, Arvidsson will be looking to have another strong year in 2026-27 but as a Red Wing. It will be interesting to see how he performs this upcoming campaign, but it is clear that he did his job on the Bruins' second line this past season.
