Could Elias Lindholm bounce back for the Bruins next season?
If the Boston Bruins hope to be a bigger threat next season, they are going to need more from Elias Lindholm.
Lindholm just completed the second season of his seven-year, $54.25 million contract. In 69 games with the Bruins, he posted 17 goals and recorded 48 points. This was after he had 17 goals and 47 points in 82 games for the Bruins during the 2024-25.
Overall, Lindholm has provided some offense in his first two seasons with the Black and Gold, but he also has not lived up to his very expensive cap hit. Now, in 2026-27, the 2013 fifth-overall pick will be looking to make more of an impact.
If Lindholm can get closer to the player he was during his days with the Calgary Flames, it would be significant for a Bruins club that is looking to take another step forward next season.
Yet, at the same time, the Bruins getting a bounce-back season from Lindholm is certainly not guaranteed. The 13-year veteran has not hit at least the 20-goal and 60-point marks since the 2022-23 when he was with the Flames. He has also played four seasons since his monster 2021-22 campaign, when he set career highs with 42 goals and 82 points in 82 games with Calgary.
Expecting Lindholm to be a point-per-game player again is far too big of an ask at this stage of his career. Although this is the case, the Bruins definitely should be hoping for him to produce more offense than he has over his first two seasons in Boston.
It will be interesting to see what kind of season Lindholm can have in 2026-27 from here.
