The Bruins' decision to trade for this forward is only continuing to get better with the playoffs here.
The Boston Bruins picked up a huge 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres in Game 2 of the first round. This was a much-needed victory for the Bruins, as a loss would have put them in a 2-0 hole heading into Game 3. Instead, the Bruins are now tied with the Sabres in the series and have home-ice advantage for Games 3 and 4.
Bruins forward Viktor Arvidsson was one of the big reasons for the Bruins' win, as he scored two goals in the contest. This included him scoring just 16 seconds into the third period to give Boston a commanding 4-0 lead in the game.
This is just the latest strong performance from Arvidsson in what has been a great year for the 33-year-old winger. Arvidsson was excellent for the Bruins during this regular season, as he had 25 goals, 29 assists, and 54 points in 69 games. Now, he has two goals in two playoff games so far this spring, so he is certainly doing his job for the Black and Gold.
With Arvidsson already making an impact this postseason, the Bruins' decision to trade for him this offseason is only continuing to get better. This is especially so when noting that the Bruins only had to give up a 2027 fifth-round pick to land him from the Edmonton Oilers.
The Bruins bought low on Arvidsson after he had a down year with the Oilers in 2024-25, and it has paid off tremendously. Let's see if he can stay hot for the Bruins as the playoffs roll on from here.
