Don't be surprised if this Bruins forward hits another new level next season.
The Boston Bruins took a nice step in the right direction during the 2025-26 season.
One of the many reasons for the Bruins' turnaround last season was Marat Khusnutdinov having a breakout year for the Black and Gold.
After posting five goals and 12 points in 75 games as a rookie during the 2024-25 season split between the Minnesota Wild and Bruins, Khusnutdinov set career highs with 15 goals and 33 points in 77 games last season for Boston. With numbers like these, the skilled forward became a nice part of the Bruins' offense last season.
When noting that Khusnutdinov is still only 24 years old entering just his fourth NHL season, it is clear that he has the potential to be even better for Boston in 2026-27.
Khusnutdinov is still young enough where he may not have hit his ceiling yet. There is a lot to like about the 2020 second-round pick's game, and it would not be surprising if he improved his offense further for the Bruins in 2026-27. This is especially so if he continues to play in Boston's top nine.
The possibility of Khusnutdinov hitting the 20-goal and 40-point marks at least next season should not be ruled out. It will be interesting to see if the young forward can take his game to another new level for the Bruins in 2026-27 from here.
