The Bruins' decision to re-sign this forward has been paying off significantly.

While the Boston Bruins had a bad 2024-25 season, Morgan Geekie was certainly one of the big bright spots from it. The 6-foot-3 forward broke out in a major way for Boston this past season, as he had 33 goals, 24 assists, and 57 points in 77 games. This was after he had 17 goals and 39 points in 76 games during his first season as a Bruin in 2023-24.

Following Geekie's impressive 2024-25 season, the Bruins signed the 27-year-old to a six-year, $33 million contract. Now, with the first regular-season of this contract done, there is no question that this decision has been paying off in a big way for the Bruins.

Geekie hit another new level this season with the Bruins, and the truth can be seen with his stats. In 81 regular-season games for Boston this campaign, he set new career highs with 39 goals, 29 assists, and 68 points. He also had five goals in his final four games of the season, which included him recording a hat trick against the Carolina Hurricanes on April 7.

When noting that Geekie only has a $5.5 million cap hit and is locked up until 2030-31, it is hard not to love this move by the Bruins. He proved this season that his breakout year in 2024-25 was not a fluke, and his contract is looking like a real bargain now because of it.
