The Bruins should consider kicking tires on Cole Perfetti this off-season.

One of the Boston Bruins' top goals of the off-season should be to improve their forward group. They simply need more skilled forwards if they hope to be a more legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference next season.

When looking at potential trade targets for the Bruins, Winnipeg Jets forward Cole Perfetti stands out as an interesting option for the Bruins to consider.

Perfetti is entering the off-season as a pending restricted free agent, and questions have come up about his future in Winnipeg for a while now. If the Jets end up listening to trade offers for him during the summer, the Bruins would be wise to kick tires on him.

Perfetti is a young forward and former first-round pick who has had some success so far in his NHL career. However, with Perfetti being only 24 years old and having plenty of skill, it is fair to wonder if he could hit a new level if given a fresh start. With this, he could make a lot of sense for a retooling like the Bruins to take a chance on.

Perfetti would give the Bruins a skilled forward who could work well in their top six and on their power play. His versatility also adds to his appeal, as he is capable of playing center and on the wing.

Perfetti appeared in 68 games this season with the Jets, where he posted 12 goals and 32 points. This was after the 2020 tenth-overall pick scored 18 goals and set career highs with 32 assists and 50 points in 82 games for the Jets in 2024-25.

Overall, with the Bruins' forward group needing help, it would make a lot of sense for them to take a chance on a former top prospect like Perfetti. He is already a good player, but he could very well break out on a new team.
