Here are three takeaways from the Bruins' loss to the Maple Leafs.
The Boston Bruins lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs by a 4-0 final score on Tuesday night (Nov. 5). It was a tough night for the Bruins, and here are three takeaways from the contest.
While the Bruins were shut out, they did create plenty of chances. They ended the night with 29 shots, but Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz shut the door big time.
Stolarz has been a strong addition to the Maple Leafs' roster early on, and he only proved this further with this excellent start. He now has a 5-2-2 record, a 2.12 goals-against average, and a .928 save percentage for the season.
The Bruins have struggled with discipline throughout this season, and this undoubtedly was the case against the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs scored three power-play goals against Boston in this matchup. That is unacceptable.
Heading into this matchup, the hope was that David Pastrnak would bounce back after being benched against the Seattle Kraken. However, Pastrnak had another quiet night and also took a penalty that led to the Maple Leafs' second goal.
