The Boston Bruins secured a hard-fought win against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Los Angeles Kings in overtime by a 2-1 final score today (Oct. 12). With it, they have won back-to-back games and will look to build off it when they face off against the Florida Panthers on Monday (Oct. 14).
Here are three main takeaways from the Bruins' hard-fought win.
The Bruins wouldn't have won this game without Jeremy Swayman's remarkable goaltending. The Anchorage, Alaska native stopped 32 out of 33 Kings shots, which equates to a .970 save percentage for the afternoon.

After missing all of training camp, Swayman naturally was a bit rusty in the Bruins' 6-4 win over the Habs. However, he certainly was on his A-game against the Kings in this one.
Matthew Poitras made his season debut for the Bruins in this contest and put together a solid performance. The young center recorded an assist on David Pastrnak's overtime-winning goal, and his smart stick-handling was a significant reason why that play came to fruition.

Throughout the matchup, Poitras was confident with the puck and created good plays. He gave the Bruins' middle six a great boost, and he should not lose his spot any time soon.
While Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper had a strong game, the Bruins' top stars were able to score on him. Elias Lindholm scored his second goal of the year in this matchup. As noted above, Pastrnak also scored the game-winner in OT.

In addition to Pastrnak and Lindholm scoring goals, captain Brad Marchand also recorded an assist.
