David Pastrnak scored the Boston Bruins' only goal in the 4-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken Thursday night at TD Garden.

For the fourth time in five games, the Boston Bruins left TD Garden ice without two points secured.
A 37-save performance from Joey Daccord and three-point night from Matty Beniers fueled the Seattle Kraken’s 4-1 win over the B’s Thursday, and extended their losing streak to three.
“Happy with a lot of parts of our game,” Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. “We’re not getting the results right now, and sometimes you go through that during the season. We’ve got to stick together, keep working, keep grinding.”
The Bruins’ power play was once again fruitless on its two opportunities against Seattle, and the Kraken capitalized on their own man advantage to even the contest in the first period. While Boston is playing fine, if not good, hockey, it’s the little things that are stopping the team from breaking through the win threshold.
David Pastrnak earned the Bruins a 1-0 advantage at 4:54 of the first period. Pavel Zacha corralled the puck to the top of the zone before releasing a shot on net. Pastrnak gave two whacks on the rebound, and forced it past Daccord for his 34th goal of the season.
“There’s a lot of work to do ahead of us. But yeah, obviously every time you get chances and opportunities to score it’s always a positive,” Pastrnak said.
Pastrnak was moved to skate with Zacha and Jake DeBrusk Thursday, and the trio combined for 13 shots.
“I thought they had a good night. I thought they created a lot of offense. They played with great speed,” Montgomery said of the second line. “I thought that line was creating a lot of momentum for our team.”
Seattle found the 1-1 equalizer while Brandon Carlo sat for a high-sticking penalty. Forward Jordan Eberle picked up a leading pass from Oliver Bjorkstrand at the blue line and went straight to the crease, backhanding it past Jeremy Swayman from the right doorstep at 9:11.
Eeli Tolvanen gave the Kraken their first lead of the night with just over two minutes remaining in the middle frame. Carlo fell over at the offensive blue line after receiving a pass from Brad Marchand, and Seattle picked up the puck and took off the other way. Tolvanen one-timed a cross-ice pass from Beniers off the 3-on-1 rush to make it 2-1 at 17:35.

“I might need to take some skating lessons tomorrow, but those things happen,” Carlo said. “I’ve been through it plenty of times, have some blooper reels – so nothing I haven’t been through before. But when they end up in the back of the net, definitely stings a little more.”
Beniers potted his own goal in the third period to extend the Kraken’s lead to 3-1 at 8:36. The Hingham, Massachusetts native wristed a rocket from the left side for his eighth goal of the season and third point of the night while skating against his hometown team.
While Boston pulled Swayman with just about four minutes left in regulation for the extra skater, a Pastrnak hooking penalty at 16:17 put the B’s on the penalty kill and ended their 6-on-5 pressure. Forward Jared McCann ultimately secured the Kraken’s 4-1 win with an empty-net goal at 19:41.
The Bruins have two matchups remaining in their seven-game homestand – Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Kings and Monday afternoon against the Dallas Stars.
“We have only a few left, so we have to get the wins Saturday and Monday and get back on the winning column,” Pastrnak siad. “Overall, the last two games were a lot of positives, but at the end of the day, you don’t get the dub.”
