This Bruins goalie has received a fine for high-sticking against the Lightning.

The Boston Bruins fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the shootout by a 3-2 final score last night. However, goaltender Linus Ullmark has now suffered two losses from the contest, this time being from his pocket.

NHL Player Safety announced today that Ullmark has been fined $5,000, which is the maximum allowable under the CBA, for high-sticking on Bolts forward Michael Eyssimont.

During the play, Eyssimont shouldered Ullmark in the head while driving the net, which naturally made the goaltender angry. From there, Ullmark swung his stick at Eyssimont's head, which, of course, led to this fine.

Neither player during this play was particularly clean, but Ullmark is the only one walking out of it with a fine. While that may be frustrating to some, it is good that he will not be forced to miss any games from it, as he avoided a suspension.

In 26 appearances this season, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner has a 16-6-3 record, a 2.64 GAA, and a .917 SV%.
