How many Boston Bruins have won the Art Ross Trophy?

Dick Raphael-USA TODAY Sports - Every Bruins Player Who's Won the Art Ross

The Boston Bruins are one of the most celebrated teams in the NHL of all time. They have had legendary players don their jersey for decades. As one of the Original Six teams, the organization has been a back bone of the league since it's inception.

The Bruins had a historic run last season. They set a new NHL record with 65 wins. They won the Presidents' Trophy. David Pastrnak had the best statistical year of his career - setting personal bests in goals (61), assists (52) and points (113).

Despite this, they had a first round playoff exit at the hands of the Florida Panthers. This was (obviously) a massive disappointment for the fans and the organization.

They are looking to remedy that this season. We are about a month away from the Trade Deadline and the Bruins are the top seeded team in the Eastern Conference. Pastrnak is third in the Art Ross Trophy race with 75 points - 10 back of Nathan MacKinnon and 12 behind Nikita Kucherov.

Can Pastrnak catch them? We'll have to wait 31 games to find out. But we can look at every Bruins player who has won the Art Ross Trophy in the past.

    Bobby Orr

There has only been one defenseman who has ever won the Art Ross Trophy - and his name is Bobby Orr. Not only has he won it, but he did it twice. The first time was in the 1969-70 season and the second time was the 1974-75 season.

He won the trophy with 120 points the first time and 135 points the second time. The next highest player scored 21 less points than him in 1969-70 and 12 points less than him in 1974-75.

    Phil Esposito

The player who finished second in NHL scoring over those two years that Orr won the Art Ross was Phil Esposito. Esposito one-upped Orr by winning the Art Ross for four consecutive years (in-between Orr's trophy winning seasons). He also won the Art Ross the year before Orr's first win, back in 1968-69.

    His point totals were equally as impressive as Orr's: 126 (1968-69), 152 (1970-71), 133 (1971-72), 130 (1972-73), and 145 (1973-74).

Both Orr and Esposito are Bruins legends, and their scoring prowess is definitely a big contributing factor.
