The Buffalo Sabres have announced that Tage Thompson and Mattias Samuelsson will both not return to the club's matchup against the Montreal Canadiens due to lower-body injuries.

This is brutal news for the Sabres, as Thompson is the club's top forward, while Samuelsson is a leader on their blueline.

Thompson continued his hot streak against the Canadiens, as he scored a goal before getting injured. With this, his goal streak extended to four straight games. In addition, he has 17 points over his last 13 games.

Samuelsson, on the other hand, just got back into the lineup after being scratched for three straight games. Unfortunately, his return to the lineup has come to an early end. The Sabres alternate captain has one goal in 13 games this season.
