Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway returned to the lineup for the club's Feb. 22 matchup against the New York Rangers. The 6-foot-6 winger had not played since the Sabres' Dec. 15 contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to injury.

Greenway had a solid first game back for the Sabres against the Rangers, as he recorded an assist and a plus-2 rating in 14:39 of ice time. He now has three goals, eight points, 60 hits, and a plus-1 rating in 21 games this season.

Greenway will be a player to watch as we continue to inch closer to the March 7 deadline. The 28-year-old forward is a pending unrestricted free agent on a Sabres team out of the playoff race. With this, he very likely will generate trade interest.

Contenders love adding big forwards who play with an edge at the deadline for the playoffs, and Greenway fits that description. Teams in need of some help on their third line should have the Canton, New York native on their radar, especially if he stays healthy over the next week and a half.

It will be interesting to see what happens between the Sabres and Greenway from here. A contract extension is certainly possible, but if they don't agree to a new deal before the trade deadline, he will be a player to watch.
