Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway picked up a lot of buzz as a trade candidate. While the Sabres elected to keep Greenway around, he is still a player to watch very closely this offseason.
Greenway, 27, is entering the final season of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason if he is not signed to a new deal by then. With Greenway being a valuable asset, the Sabres may not want to risk the prospect of losing him for nothing next offseason.

The Sabres also made an array of bottom-six additions this offseason, bringing in Ryan McLeod, Beck Malenstyn, Jason Zucker, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, and Sam Lafferty. This has crowded things in the bottom portion of the Sabres' lineup, and it is fair to wonder if Greenway will be made expendable because of it.
Greenway notably garnered interest from the Vancouver Canucks this past season, and they could make sense as a landing spot for him.
With the Sabres looking to add a top-six winger, Greenway could be an appealing piece to include in a trade to land one. There is no question that Greenway would intrigue several teams, as he is a 6-foot-6 winger who plays a physical game and chips in a bit offensively.
We will need to wait and see what happens with Greenway from here, but he is undoubtedly a player to watch.
