This former Sabre is having an excellent season with his new team.

The Buffalo Sabres moved on from an array of players this past off-season. Among them was forward Eric Robinson. It was not surprising when the Sabres let the 29-year-old go, as he had a pretty quiet tenure in Buffalo. In 40 games with the Sabres, he had two goals, seven assists, and 19 penalty minutes.

Once he hit the free-agent market, Robinson signed a one-year, $950,000 contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. Since then, this move has greatly benefited both the player and the team.

Robinson is thriving with the Hurricanes, as he has nine goals, 20 points, and a plus-7 rating in 40 games. With this, he is currently on pace to set new career highs offensively. In addition, he ranks seventh on the Hurricanes in points, which is excellent for them when noting that he has such an affordable salary.

Due to his strong play, Robinson has been given reps in the Hurricanes' top six, and he has certainly taken advantage of it. Sometimes, a player needs a change of scenery, and Robinson has benefitted by moving on from the Sabres.
