This former Sabre has been dealt to the Blue Jackets.

Former Buffalo Sabres first-round pick Alex Nylander is on the move. This is because the winger has been traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins along with a conditional 2026 sixth-round pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Emil Bemstrom.
Nylander, 25, appeared in five games this season with the Penguins, where he had zero points. He has spent the majority of this season down in the AHL, posting 17 goals and 32 points in 43 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
This change of scenery could be a good one for Nylander. This is because he could get into more NHL action, as Columbus' forward depth is worse than Pittsburgh's.

Nylander was memorably selected with the eighth-overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The expectation was that he would become a top-six forward for the Sabres, but it simply did not work out for him with the organization. In 19 games over three seasons with the Sabres, he had three goals and three assists.
