This former Sabres draft pick has signed with a new team.
Former Buffalo Sabres draft pick Brendan Lemieux has found a new home, as he has signed a multi-year contract with HC Davos of the Swiss National League.
Lemieux and the Carolina Hurricanes mutually agreed to terminate his contract this past weekend. This was after he played 12 games with their AHL affiliate this season, the Chicago Wolves, where he has two goals. He also did not play a game with the Canes this season.
Lemieux was initially selected by the Sabres with the 31st overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The gritty winger never ended up playing a game with Buffalo, though, as he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets during the 2014-15 season.
Lemieux, 28, played seven seasons in the NHL, split between the Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, and Hurricanes. In 307 NHL games, he had 36 goals, 38 assists, 74 points, 548 penalty minutes, and 738 hits.
