This Buffalo Sabres forward got injured in the club's season-opener against the New Jersey Devils.
The Buffalo Sabres started their season on the wrong foot, losing their season-opener against the New Jersey Devils by a 4-1 final score. While it was a tough way for them to start, they will now look to redeem themselves against the Devils today (Oct. 5).
Besides losing, the Sabres also got more bad news from this matchup, as forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel left the contest early due to a lower-body injury. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters that he expects Aube-Kubel to miss today's matchup.
According to The Buffalo News' Lance Lysowski, Aube-Kubel had a brace on his left leg following the contest.
At this juncture, there has yet to be an update on the severity of Aube-Kubel's injury and how long he is expected to be sidelined.
Aube-Kubel's Sabres debut saw him limited to 5:45 of ice time and leave the matchup during the second period.
Here's hoping that Aube-Kubel's injury is not too serious and that he has a speedy recovery.
