This Buffalo Sabres defender should have a big year in 2024-25.

OTP - Sabres Need To Bounce Back From A Slow Start

While the Buffalo Sabres' start to the 2024-25 season was rough, there is still excitement surrounding the team. It is understandable, as they have an array of young players who have the potential to hit new levels.

One specific Sabre who is a prime breakout candidate for the Atlantic Division club is defenseman Bowen Byram.

Byram, 23, is set to be a crucial part of the Sabres' defense this season. This is because he plays top-four minutes and also receives power-play time. Because of this, the Sabres are giving him a real chance to succeed, and we could see him take that next step in 2024-25.

After the Sabres acquired Byram from the Colorado Avalanche last season, he immediately thrived in a more significant role. In 18 games with the Sabres following the move, he had three goals, nine goals, and 34 hits. Overall, he left a good first impression, and it will be fascinating to see how well he performs during his first full season with the Sabres from here.

Byram is a former top prospect who undoubtedly has the potential to become an even better player. Keep in mind that he is just only 23 years old, so the youngster still has plenty of time to take that next step and blossom into a true star.

Don't be surprised if Byram has a big breakout year because of it.
