Defenseman returns for a second season with Buffalo Sabres organization

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed defenseman Jeremy Davies to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000, the team announced Monday.

Davies, who was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, had 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) in 66 games with the Rochester Americans in 2022-23. The 26-year-old added another six points (one goal, five assists) in 14 games in the Amerks’ run to the Eastern Conference final of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

He earned call-ups to the Sabres early in the season and appeared in one game while being held without a point.

The Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, native was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the seventh round (No. 192) of the 2016 NHL Draft. He has 21 goals and 91 points in 191 AHL games and three assists in 23 NHL games.
