Don't be surprised if this Buffalo Sabres star has a career year.
The start of the Buffalo Sabres' 2024-25 season has not been ideal. They currently sport a 1-3-0 record, but they did pick up a big 5-2 win against the Florida Panthers on Saturday (Oct. 12).
A significant reason for the Sabres' first win of the season was Alex Tuch's play. The star winger posted a goal and an assist in the matchup. With this, he now has two goals and a team-leading four points on the season.
Overall, Tuch has had a nice start to the season, and there is reason to believe he can keep it up. When playing at his best, the 6-foot-4 winger is a highly impactful offensive threat. He effectively demonstrated this during the 2022-23 season with the Sabres, posting 36 goals and 79 points in 74 games. But can he hit a new level in 2024-25? It seems possible.
Tuch is one of the Sabres' most important forwards, as he plays on their first line and gets power-play time. Because of this, the Sabres are giving him plenty of opportunities to succeed, and we could see him hit a new level offensively with it.
It will be fascinating to see what kind of season Tuch puts together from here, but he is off to an electric start.
