The Buffalo Sabres just finished the 2024 Prospects Challenge. Overall, the Sabres had many youngsters stand out during the tournament, and now they will look to build off it once the regular season is here.

However, while several of the Sabres' prospects performed well, they have another one who has been simply dominant in the KHL - Prokhor Poltapov.

Poltapov, 21, has been nothing short of excellent for CSKA Moscow to start the season. In five games for the KHL squad, the 2021 second-round pick has an impressive three goals and nine points. In addition, he has recorded at least one point in every game thus far this campaign.

This kind of outstanding start is undoubtedly encouraging to see. This is especially so when noting that Poltapov had just five goals and 13 points in 56 games for CSKA Moscow last season. With this, the 6-foot winger is on pace to quickly pass his totals from last season.

However, Poltapov's goal from here will be to stay consistent. After posting four goals and seven points in his first 12 games last season, he notably only had six points in his final 44 contests. However, given how excellent he has been early on this season, it appears that the young forward has taken a notable step in the right direction with his development.

It will be very fascinating to see how Poltapov builds off his incredible start. If he continues to play this well, it will significantly raise his value as a prospect in Buffalo's system.
