Buffalo’s last win in Raleigh was in March 2016

The Buffalo Sabres take on the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, with an opportunity to end a losing streak in North Carolina that has lasted seven years.

The last Sabres victory at PNC Arena was a 3-2 win on March 22, 2016, with goals from Carlo Colaiacovo (now a radio host in Toronto), Evander Kane (now in Edmonton) and Johan Larsson (playing in Sweden) and Chad Johnson (retired) making 25 saves.

Since that game, Buffalo has gone 0-7-2, with the 3-2 overtime loss on November 7 marking the best opportunity to end the losing skid.

"You have to be willing to battle and compete. You know that if you don't, and you're not willing to do that at a very high level, you probably have no chance in this building." Sabres head coach Don Granato said after the morning skate on Saturday. "You've got to stay on your game for 60 minutes in here."

Eric Comrie (1-3-0, 3.45 GAA, .876 SV %) will start in goal for the Sabres. Granato will sit rookies Isak Rosen and Ryan Johnson against the Hurricanes and is inserting Brandon Biro on the fourth line with Tyson Jost and Victor Olofsson and veteran Connor Clifton on the bottom pairing with Erik Johnson.
