Calgary Flames trade additions Farabee and Frost improve their playoff chances

The Calgary Flames (26-21-7) wrap their homestand ahead of the 4 Nations Face-off break with a Saturday night rematch against the Seattle Kraken (23-29-4) at the Saddledome.

Tonight is the third of four meetings this season and the second consecutive Saturday these two play. Last week, Calgary won 3-2 at Climate Pledge Arena, avenging an earlier 2-1 overtime loss.

The Flames continue to play .500 hockey, earning a 5-5-0 record in their last ten outings, most recently losing to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday 4-2.

Meanwhile, the Kraken are 4-5-1 in their last ten games, losing both games this week to Detroit and Toronto since last playing against Calgary.

Conversation Starters

  • Ilya Solovyov and Dryden Hunt are in tonight's lineup. Both are making their season debuts and could be the spark the lineup needs to snap out of their recent funk. What kind of impact can they have against the Kraken?
  • Dustin Wolf has never played Seattle and is still searching for a 20th win. Considering how much the team relies on him to win games, will he leave it all on the ice tonight, heading into the break to end on a positive note?
  • The Kraken is the last team the Flames beat, and given the space in the standings, this is a must-win for Calgary. Which players will step up their play to ensure the home team secures these two valuable points?
