The Calgary Flames have recalled two players from the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers ahead of Saturday night’s matchup against the Seattle Kraken.

Following injuries to goaltender Devin Cooley and forward Brennan Othmann during Wednesday’s Battle of Alberta against the Edmonton Oilers, the Flames announced Friday that goaltender Arsenii Sergeev and forward William Stromgren have been recalled.

Stromgren has been off to a strong start with the Wranglers, recording three goals and eight assists for 11 points through 11 games. His point total currently ranks tied for fourth in the AHL.

The Flames selected Stromgren in the second round (45th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut last season, appearing in three games during his recall.

A seventh-round selection (205th overall) by Calgary in 2021, Sergeev made his NHL debut last season and picked up his first career NHL victory in the process. He turned aside 27 of 28 shots in a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on April 16, 2026, in the Flames’ regular-season finale.

With Cooley’s availability uncertain following Wednesday’s injury, Sergeev could be in line for an opportunity with the Flames once again.

Calgary will look to get back on track Saturday night when they host the Seattle Kraken at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
