Team Canada won on Thursday, thanks in large part to Calgary Flames forward Andrew Mangiapane's goal.

Andrew Mangiapane scored the eventual game-winning goal early in the second period Thursday as Team Canada defeated Norway 4-1 to remain undefeated at the IIHF World Championships.

Just over two minutes into the second period, Mangiapane took a feed from Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram, went skate to stick with the puck, and finished behind Norwegian netminder Henrik Haukeland for his first goal of the tournament to put Canada up 2-0.

Seattle Kraken forwards Brandon Tanev and Jared McCann, as well as Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens found the back of the net for the other Team Canada goals.

Now at three regulation wins and an overtime victory, Canada sits atop Group A with 11 points, tied with Switzerland. Canada next will play Finland on Saturday before finishing up group play against Switzerland and Czechia.

Slovakian forward Martin Pospisil , the lone other Calgary Flame represented in Prague, has three games remaining in group play for the third-place Slovaks in Group B. They will play France, Latvia, and Sweden to close out the group.
