Both Sebastian Aho and Taylor Hall will miss tonight's game against the Chicago Blackhawks due to illness.
The Carolina Hurricanes will be playing a bit handicapped tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Sebastian Aho, who was originally a game-time decision, is officially out, but so too is Taylor Hall as both forwards are dealing with an illness.
It seems that a bug is sweeping through the Canes' room as Jack Roslovic missed the team's last game against the New York Rangers due to illness as well and now multiple players have been ruled out due to it.
"It's tough," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour this morning. "It pretty much ends up pretty much running through everybody. Just the nature of it. We try to keep guys that are sick away and not have them come in like today when you're not feeling great. But it's that time of year."
The Hurricanes had only planned for one absence, Aho, so had called up Ryan Suzuki, but Hall's last minute absence will leave them with just 17 available skaters.
It will be a big challenge for the team to overcome and I'm sure there are players dealing with some degree of illness as well.
