The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled center Ryan Suzuki from the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL.
Suzuki, 22, had 14 goals and 30 points in 51 games this season with the Thunderbirds in what was certainly an interesting situation for him.
Obviously with Carolina not having an AHL affiliate this season, the Canes' management had to find a new home for Suzuki and Springfield turned out to be the place.
But Suzuki earned his way into more ice time and was a solid piece for the Thunderbirds.
Suzuki has struggled with health issues for most of his career so it's good to see him continue to just get solid ice time and the chance to keep developing although not being in the Carolina system isn't ideal.
