
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed 20-year-old, NCAA forward Jackson Blake to a three-year entry-level contract.
Blake's contract, which begins this season, will seem him receive $775,000 this season and $832,500 for the next two seasons. He will receive $80,000 at AHL level for all three seasons. The deal also includes a $277,500 signing bonus.
“Jackson is an explosive playmaker who has played a key role in North Dakota’s success over the past two seasons,” said Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell. “Hockey is in his blood, and we can’t wait to see how his game continues to grow at the next level.”
Blake has had a tremendous sophomore season at the University of North Dakota where his 22 goals and 60 points has him as one of the three finalists for this year's Hobey Baker Award.
The forward was also named the NCHA Forward and Player of the Year a few weeks back and his 60 points where the fourth most in the NCAA this season.
Blake joins a trio of signees already in the last week with Scott Morrow, Gleb Trikozov and Bradly Nadeau all having signed their ELCs recently as well.
