The Carolina Hurricanes will be playing two games at virtually the same time tonight as they split the roster to face both the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Not only will the Canes be splitting up the roster, but they will also be having to split the coaching staff, equipment staff and everything else.
In Tampa, the Canes will be icing a more veteran lineup with Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, Seth Jarvis, Martin Necas, Jordan Martinook, Jordan Staal and Jesper Fast making their 2023-24 preseason debuts.
In addition, prospect Aleksi Heimosalmi will make his preseason debut in Tampa as well.
The Florida squad will feature almost everyone who has already played a game this preseason, but prospects Ronan Seeley, Bryce Montgomery and Anttoni Honka will be making their preseason debuts.
Defensemen Jaccob Slavin, Brent Burns, Brady Skjei and Brett Pesce will not play in either game and forwards Andrei Svechnikov and Vasily Ponomarev, who are each still nursing injuries, will not play either.
