After last night's 8-2 throttling at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Carolina Hurricanes took the ice on Saturday for practice.
While there seemed to be no adjustments in the lines and pairs from the previous two games, there was however one small tweak.
The Canes made a switch on their power play, swapping Martin Necas off the top unit with Andrei Svechnikov.
Over the last two games, the Hurricanes' top unit has not been too hot. They've struggled with everything from entries to keep ins and even passing.
Meanwhile, the second unit has not only had better results, but they've shown more life than the top unit.
Last night, it was Svechnikov's hardnosed effort to jump in on a lost faceoff and win back the puck that led to the Michael Bunting power play goal.
That determined, hard-working effort has been missing from PP1.
Svechnikov also adds another shot threat to the top unit with his laser of a wrist shot and Necas adds a better entry option to PP2.
The Canes have had a solid power play this season, operating at a 22.2% success rate (11th in the league) so perhaps small tweaks can just help it find more consistency.
PP1: Brent Burns, Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen, Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis
PP2: Jaccob Slavin, Martin Necas, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Michael Bunting, Stefan Noesen
