The Carolina Hurricanes will remain in the Big Apple as they take on the New York Islanders (5-2-2) tonight.

The Canes are coming off of a 2-1 loss to the New York Rangers Thursday night. 

Seth Jarvis scored the Hurricanes' lone goal on the power play giving him four power play goals on the season which is the team-high, a career-high and the second-best in the league currently.

Goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 24 of 26.

The Islanders are coming off of a 3-0 shutout win over the Washington Capitals Thursday night.

Ryan Pulock, Simon Holmstrom and Brock Nelson each scored for the Isles and Semyon Varlamov stopped all 32 shots he faced.

Despite being one of the top teams in the league in goals against, the Islanders have been one of the worst in terms of offense. 

Per NaturalStatTrick.com, they have just a 45.96% Corsi For (the fifth worst in the league) and are scoring just 2.67 goals per game (the seventh worst rate).

However, the big difference has been goaltending. New York has had three shutouts in nine games and their goaltenders have a combined 0.932 save percentage.

According to MoneyPuck.com, the Isles goaltending tandem has combined to save 9.1 goals above expected.
