The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena to end their road trip off on the right note.
The Canes scored three unanswered goals from Andrei Svechnikov, Seth Jarvis and Stefan Noesen in the final 40 minutes to rally back for the win while Spencer Martin stopped 29 of 30.
Period 1
After a decent start, things started to go south for Carolina.
They just didn't seem to have the energy or awareness to keep up with a rested Vegas squad who was cutting through the Hurricanes with ease.
The Golden Knights were getting to the net and then were also getting to every second chance opportunity too.
But luckily for Carolina, Spencer Martin — who hadn't played for 28 days — was up to the task.
Martin was aggressive in his crease and was tracking the puck well and he managed to keep his team in the race.
Despite his strong play, there was only so much he could do on his own.
A bad pinch by the Canes sprung a 2-on-1 for Vegas and Martin made not only the initial save, but also the follow-up save and it wasn't till the tertiary try that the Golden Knights managed to convert.
The Canes just simply weren't quick on the puck and sort of just watched as Vegas swung away.
Vegas got a power play and a chance to extend the lead after Martin Necas was called for an undisciplined roughing penalty, but the Hurricanes staunch penalty kill came through once again.
And then as the period neared an end, Seth Jarvis sprung Jesperi Kotkaniemi in alone on Adin Hill, but the netminder stoned him twice.

Period 2
The Canes got on the board early into the second as Andrei Svechnikov cashed in on a marvelous solo effort.
He picked up the puck in the neutral zone, split the Vegas D and roofed a wicked backhander.
The pendulum started to swing back into Carolina's favor as the second period went on, with the Hurricanes starting to dominate puck possession.
While no additional scores were had, it was clear that the Hurricanes found their footing.
However, a late penalty was called with 10 seconds to go as Hill swiped Svechnikov's skate out from under him and he fell with his stick clipping Alex Pietrangelo's face.
Shots: 20-19 Carolina
Period 3
Do you believe in karma?
Because immediately out of the gate, Seth Jarvis broke free shorthanded and slipped a puck past Hill to give Carolina a 2-1 lead.
You know what they say... puck don't lie.
The Hurricanes kept up the pressure and eventually they cashed in again.
A heavy Jesperi Kotkaniemi shot ripped through Hill's glove and up into the air and Stefan Noesen highlighted his high-end hand-eye, by knocking it down and then sweeping it in.
Because of the second tap, Noesen is allowed to play the puck so long as his stick is at shoulder height or below rather than below the crossbar.
It was clinical for Carolina after that with a good amount of consistent pressure and not much given up the other way. And that was even without a single penalty being called against Vegas over the course of the entire evening.
All in all, a great way to end a road trip.
