The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they have recalled rookie defenseman Scott Morrow from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Morrow, 22, was slated to participate in the AHL All-Star Skills Competition/Game this Sunday/Monday alongside Ryan Suzuki, but instead it looks like he'll be joining the Canes for their two-game road trip.
The 2021 second-round pick has 10 goals and 29 points in 41 AHL games this season.
The blueliner is fifth in blueliner scoring, first amongst rookie defensemen, and third in goals.
Morrow signed his three-year ELC last season, playing his first two NHL games then too.
Illness has swept through the Hurricanes' locker room as of late with multiple players having missed game action due to it (Jack Roslovic, Sebastian Aho, Taylor Hall).
Coach Rod Brind'Amour even went so far as to classify the whole team as game-timed decisions before their game against the LA Kings on Saturday.
There's no guarantee that Morrow will draw in yet, but it's safe to say the team is taking as many precautions as they can, especially with being on the road.
