With the 30th overall pick in the 2023 draft, the Carolina Hurricanes selected Bradly Nadeau - Penticton (BCHL).
Nadeau is a scorer first and foremost. He had 45 goals and 113 points in 54 games playing in Junior A.
While some scouts may have liked to see him play in the U-18s in order to gauge him against other top competition at his age group, there's no denying he was hands down the best player amongst anyone from any Junior A league this year.
Nadeau is committed to the University of Maine and will start his collegiate career there next season which will be a good opportunity for him to add some weight and take his time developing.
The Canes needed to bolster their prospect pool with high-end forwards and Nadeau does just that. Carolina won't be seeing the young winger for at least three seasons, but if he sticks to his development track, he could be a very good NHL player.
Here's what scouts told The Hockey News about Nadeau: "There wasn't much more he could have done this season. He's got a great shot, a good one-timer and wrist shot off the rush." - Scout 1
"This kid has an NHL release. It flies off the stick. A lot of guys have to slow down to shoot, and he doesn't have to do that." - Scout 2
