The Carolina Hurricanes made their first selection of the 2024 Draft, taking Czech defenseman Dominik Badinka in the second round.
The 6-foot-3 blueliner is touted for his mobility and can play in both ends.
He had a strong season in the SHL this year with the Malmo Redhawks where he was averaging over 14 minutes a game as an 18 year old.
People who have watched his game say that his defensive maturity jumps off the page and he's already a dependable defender in a men's league.
Badinka is also a right-handed defenseman and helps to fill a need within the organization as the pipeline was a little lacking in blueliners.
