The Carolina Hurricanes selected American forward Michael Emerson 190th overall.

Emerson is the second player from the Chicago Steel that the Hurricanes drafted this year and will also funnily enough, be the third prospect they have, not only from the Steel, but that is committed to the University of North Dakota as he joins fellow 2023 pick Perron and Hurricanes prospect Jackson Blake in that regard.

A forward that actually has some size (6-foot-2), Emerson was over a point-per-game player last season for the Steel and was on overager in this year's draft.

The second year with Chicago did him well as he went from only seven points in 36 games for the 2021-22 season to over 60 this past one.

He is also a physical presence and can bring some grit and toughness to the table.
