    The Carolina Hurricanes have selected forward Justin Poirier with the 156th overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft.

    It's short king season here as Poirier only stands at 5-foot-8, but he solid for his size at 181-pounds.

    However, what makes him special is the fact that he scored over 50 goals in the QMJHL last season, the first player to do that since Sidney Crosby.

    It's rare for a player that size to make the jump to the NHL, but someone with a rocket of a shot that can score at will is also a rarity, 

    Analytically, Sportlogiq had Poirier as a mid-second round pick.

    If there was ever a player to take a swing on, it's this one.
