Carolina Hurricanes Sign Russian Prospect Gleb Trikozov to Three-Year ELC
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed another prospect to an entry-level contract this week, this time signing Russian forward Gleb Trikozov to a three-year deal.
The deal, which begins in 2024-25, will pay $775,000 at the NHL level and $82,500 at the AHL level. Trikozov will also receive a $262,500 signing bonus.
“Gleb is a natural goal scorer who combines his high-level vision with a heavy shot,” said Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell in a press release. “He also uses his physicality effectively on both ends of the ice, and we’re excited to see how his game continues to develop in North America.”
The deal comes just one day after it was announced that Trikozov and his home club, Avangard Omsk, had agreed to a mutual contract termination.

The 2022 second-round pick has spent his whole hockey career in Russia and this year split time mainly between the VHL, the Russian second league, and the MHL, the highest Russian junior league.
Trikozov had 11 goals and 21 points in 39 VHL games, 12 goals and 18 points in 10 MHL games and 4 goals and 9 points in 7 MHL playoff games.
The 6'1", right-shot forward also appeared in two KHL games this season as well.
It's probably safe to assume that Carolina will find a solution to their AHL dilemma next season, so it will be good to see players like Trikozov, who at times struggled to get consistent playing time in Russia, actually have a focused development.
