The full 2025-26 NHL schedule comes out today at 1 p.m. EST, but it seems like teams are being allowed to release their home openers a bit earlier.
The Carolina Hurricanes announced that they will open their season on Oct. 9 against the New Jersey Devils at Lenovo Center.
The Canes faced off against New Jersey in the first round of the playoffs last season, with Carolina advancing in five games.
The two Metropolitan Division rivals will once again be jockeying for positioning next season and could very well be two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference when all is said and done.
The full schedule is slated to release in just a few hours.
