Carolina Hurricanes top prospect and SKA St. Petersburg defenseman Alexander Nikishin has signed with a new agency to be his North American representatives.
Nikishin, 23, will be represented by Quartexx Hockey and according to PuckPedia.com, his agent will be Ryan Barnes.
Quartexx already represents a few Carolina Hurricanes such as Jalen Chatfield, Taylor Hall, William Carrier and Riley Stillman, so the organization will at least have some familiarity with them.
Barnes currently represents 11 active NHL players, the most prominent being Utah Hockey Club goaltender Karel Vejmelka, who signed a five-year, $23,750,000 contract extension this season.
The Russian blueliner holds the record for the most points in a season by a Russian-born defenseman in KHL history (56), having broken his own record set two years prior.
He is also SKA's all-time highest scoring defenseman and current captain.
His KHL contract will expire May 31, but if SKA is eliminated from the playoffs any earlier, than perhaps there's a chance an agreement ($) can be reached for early termination.
