Once again, the Carolina Hurricanes have traded out of the first round of the 2024 draft.

After many waited over three hours, the Hurricanes decided they would be better off to move down seven spots and pick up an additional pick in the process.

Carolina traded the 27th overall pick to the Chicago Blackhawks for picks 34 and 50, both second round picks this year.

The Canes also traded out of the first round in 2021 and picked up two seconds then too. With those picks they took Scott Morrow and Ville Koivunen so it worked out then.

Carolina now holds 10 picks for Day 2 of the draft tomorrow, Saturday, which starts at 11:30.
