Pyotr Kochetkov could become the Carolina Hurricanes starter this season.

What - Preseason Game 1
When - 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 26
Where - PNC Arena; Raleigh, NC
How to Watch - The game will be livestreamed on the team's website.

The Carolina Hurricanes will finally, after a long offseason, be back on the ice at PNC Arena to play a hockey game.

It will be the first game of the Canes' preseason slate and they will host the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Hurricanes will be icing a much younger roster with all of the PTO players plus a few of the NHL regulars.

Notable names that will play tonight include Frederik Andersen, Jalen Chatfield, Tony DeAngelo, Pyotr Kochetkov and Dmitry Orlov, who will be making his first appearance in a Canes jersey.

None of the forwards projected to make the opening night roster will be playing tonight, so there is plenty of ice-time and opportunity for players to make a case for themselves.

The Lightning will also be sending a roster primarily composed of younger players, although their notable players include Nick Paul, Zach Bogosian, Brandon Hagel, Anthony Cirelli, Conor Sheary, Tanner Jeannot and the return of former Hurricane Haydn Fleury.
