Six players head to Chicago as the Hurricanes streamline their bench, placing three on waivers while narrowing the field to forty names ahead of Saturday’s final preseason clash.

The Carolina Hurricanes have reduced their training camp roster down to 40 players, reassigning six players to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

Ivan Ryabkin, Gleb Trikozov and Bryce Montgomery all were reassigned straight to the Wolves, while Zach Sawchenko, Viktor Neuchev and Ronan Seeley all have to go on waivers first.

The Canes' camp now features 23 forwards, 13 defensemen and four goaltenders, but more cuts are expected before the Hurricanes' final preseason game on Saturday.
