After struggling with puck movement and defensive metrics in his first two NHL starts, the young blueliner heads to Chicago to refine his physical game and poise.

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they've reassigned defenseman Charles Alexis Legault to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

Legault, 23, made the Hurricanes' opening roster and appeared in two games, however, the third-year pro did not look comfortable in that span.

The 6-foot-4 defender had the lowest chance share (44.12%), high-danger chance share (16.67%) and expected goal share (20.98%) amongst all Hurricanes defensemen, despite playing the least amount of 5v5 minutes.

The young defenseman had a tough time in his own end, failing to move pucks effectively and getting off of walls and was credited with three turnovers in the two games.

The team is high on Legault's future due to his defensive game and physical abilities, but it just seems he's not yet ready for the NHL.

The Canes will face the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday night, with Mike Reilly expected to draw in in Legault's spot.
