For just the second-time in history, the Danes are heading back to the Olympics for ice hockey thanks in no small part due to the goaltending of Carolina Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen.

For those nations that aren't guaranteed a spot in the Olympics, qualifiers were held at the end of August and three different groups went to battle for those last few spots.

In one group was Denmark, Norway, Japan and Great Britain and the Danes ran the group, winning all three games to secure their bid to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games along with Slovakia and Latvia.

Despite being up there near some of the other European hockey powers, Denmark hasn't been too big of a hockey nation, with only 17 players in NHL history having come from the small nation.

However, the Danes have the fortune of some of their best ever talent all playing in the present day with Andersen, Nikolaj Ehlers, Oilver Bjorkstrand and more.

Andersen will almost certainly be on the Olympic team too and he and the Danes will compete in Group B against Finland, Czechia and Germany.
