Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen has been selected as one of the first six players for the Danish Olympic team.
The Danes qualified for the Olympics for just the second time in its history (first appearance was 2022) by defeating Norway, Great Britain and Japan in the 2024 Group F Olympic Qualifiers in Denmark.
Andersen, is one of just three five NHL players from Denmark, so it was a bygone conclusion that he'd be one of those selected for the team.
The veteran netminder is one of the top goaltenders in the league, just so long as he's healthy.
The 35-year-old goaltender has dealt with a myriad of health issues over his career, but when he's on his game, he'll give any team a chance.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy on Feb. 6-22, 2026.
