The Carolina Hurricanes did not have an update on goaltender Frederik Andersen on Monday.

The 35-year-old netminder left Sunday afternoon's Game 4 early after a collision with New Jersey Devils forward Timo Meier.

Andersen would not return to the game and at this point, there's no guarantee one way or the other if he'll be available for Game 5 in Raleigh on Tuesday.

The team did not practice on Monday, but Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour as available to the local media.

"I don't know anything yet because he hasn't come back yet [from being evaluated]," Brind'Amour said. "He's getting evaluated as we speak."

When asked if Andersen had entered concussion protocol: "I can't give you an update. He left the game, was in good shape and then he's getting checked out. That's what I can tell you."

Brind'Amour said he hopes to have an update later today. The team is scheduled to practice Tuesday morning, so that will be our best chance for another update on Andersen's status.

If he can't go, Russian netminder Pyotr Kochetkov will make his third ever playoff start. He came in cold halfway through Sunday's game and after a soft goal on the second shot of the game, he settled in, making 14 saves on 15 shots.

"It was a tough moment for me," Kochetkov said after the game. "When he scored, I say, 'It's my goal.' I tried to just focus for next shot. Not much condition. Little time. I not know how many games I no play, maybe 10 days. Little bit need to feel puck and after I had a couple shots, the game comes to me."
