Goaltender Zach Jovanovski returns to the OHL as Carolina streamlines its roster, clearing the way for NHL regulars to command full reps for the remainder of camp.

The Carolina Hurricanes have made their first cut of training camp, reassigning goaltender Zach Jovanovski to Guelph Storm of the OHL.

The 2026 draftee was skating with the C1 group, which primarily consists of the NHL regulars and so this will allow Pyotr Kochetkov and Brandon Bussi to get the full reps for the remainder of camp.

Before the opening of camp, Jovanovski took part in the 2026 Prospects Showcase, playing in one game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 18-year-old netminder was never in any consideration to play at any part of the preseason, but he got a bit of experience with the big boys and hopefully he picked up some pointers he can carry with him.
